Patients are advised not to drink alcohol on the day of treatment and similarly should not engage in strenuous exercise before or after their appointment. It’s not advisable to have acupuncture on an empty stomach, so eat something, even if it’s only a small snack. If possible wear loose fitting and comfortable clothes.

Women should mention if they might be pregnant, as some points are not used during pregnancy.
